Jo Lauria is a Los Angeles-based curator, author, and educator. Her forward-thinking advocacy for the handmade has been rewarded with a lifetime of acclaimed projects. A specialist in craft, design, and decorative arts, Lauria is currently Adjunct Curator of the American Museum of Ceramic Art (Pomona, CA) and Faculty at Otis College of Art and Design. Many know her from her tenure as Curator of Decorative Arts at Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA).
Japandí Revisited: shared aesthetics and influences
Wayne Art Center is pleased to partner with browngrotta arts in Japandi Revisited: shared aesthetics and influences, an exhibition curated by Tom Grotta and Rhonda Brown of browngrotta arts, Wilton, CT.
Opening the December 7th gallery talks, the Japandi Revisted curators speak in Wayne Art Center’s Ethel Sergeant Clark Smith Gallery about common approaches shared between Japanese and Scandinavian cultures in art and about the work on exhibit created by contemporary fiber and ceramic artists from Japan, Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland.
