Summer Art Camp 2023: Week 4

Andy Goldsworthy; IGNANT, 1980-2000

Earthy Environments

July 5 – July 7 (No classes on July 3 & July 4)

Land Art, also known as environmental art, was a movement that emerged in the 1960’s, whereby artists utilized natural materials in various settings to interact with the surrounding environment. Environmental artists preferred to use the landscape as their studio in contrast to a traditional indoor studio. Create your own land art projects using nature’s tools and setting as the centerpiece of your creation.

Artists: Andy Goldsworthy, Agnes Denes, Christo and Jeanne Claude, Nancy Holt, Robert Rauschenberg, Robert Smithson, Ai Weiwei, Frank Lloyd Wright.
