Robert F. McGovern is a Philadelphia born sculptor, printmaker and painter. He has had seventeen one man exhibits of paintings, prints, drawing and sculptures, the most recent at Villanova University in 2003, and has participated in many group exhibitions. He is the author of Religious Art in the Twentieth Century – An Understand, Pax Romano, Fribourg, Switzerland; A Re-emergence of Religious Art in the Seventies; Dimension magazine, Philadelphia, PA; Contemplation and the Artist, Heythrop College, London, England.
He has works in many collection including Georgetown University, Washington, DC; St. Charles Borromeo Seminary, Philadelphia; Pius XII Center, Rome, Italy; Free Library, Philadelphia; Philadelphia Museum of Art Print Collection.
Robert F. McGovern taught at the University of the Arts for forty two years receiving the Beitzel Award for teaching. He retired as Professor Emeritus in 1999. He continues to work in his Narbeth studio.
