Exploring spontaneous splashing of India inks on uncommon media to create unpredictable images, color combinations that are open to many interpretations, Deep Space explores the space above us in the universe, below us in the oceans and within ourselves as human beings. The Dadaists of the early 20th century called this psychic automatism. Others have called it revealing the unseen.
About Elisabeth Braun
Playing with inks on different media, including synthetic paper and photographic film, including CT scans, has long been a fascination. Retired after a long career in journalism and international business, always carrying a camera, I am now able to "color splash" with abandon in the studio.
Elisabeth will present a free Artist Talk and Family Demo on Saturday, March 11.
