Decorative Objects from Chanticleer

February 12 – March 10, 2012

What does Chanticleer's staff do once the garden closes for the season? They all have winter projects to complete, crafting decorative items for the garden! Over the years, the inventory of imaginative and useful objects in the Chanticleer collection has grown, adding to the flavor of the garden and to the enjoyment of our visitors.

Approximately 30 of these objects will be included in this exhibition, along with photographs of the objects on site. The show will include a sampling of furniture, plant list boxes, bridges, fences, railings, drinking fountains, metal work, decorative pathways, and architecture all designed by Chanticleer staff and shown for the first time outside of their usual garden context.

The Exhibit will be on view in the Ethel Sergeant Clark Smith Gallery of the Wayne Art Center from February 12th-March 10th of 2012, and is offered free & open to the public. Gallery hours are Monday-Saturday, 10AM-4PM. An opening reception has been scheduled for Sunday, February 12th from 3-5PM.

Chanticleer, A Pleasure Garden, the new book by Adrian Higgins and Rob Cardillo is now available at University of Pennsylvania Press ($22 includes tax) . Rob Cardillo (photographer) will be present for a book signing at the opening reception on February 12, 2012. This book will also be available for purchase during the exhibition dates.
