Concetta Mattioni received her BFA in studio art from Kutztown University in 1988 and her MAT in visual arts education from Rhode Island School of Design in 1992. She is an art teacher and the department coordinator at Penncrest High School, where she teaches Drawing, Painting, Art Major II, Art Major III, Portfolio Preparation, and AP Drawing. Her work is inspired by nature, her travels, and those around her. Mattioni’s flower and foliage paintings are inspired by her visits to botanical gardens and her love of Longwood Gardens. Each season at Longwood Gardens provides a new spark for creativity and she never finds herself short for ideas. Her landscape drawings and paintings focus on her travels, both locally and abroad. Lastly, she loves to create portraits of people and animals and always finds it a challenge to capture the likeness and well as the personality of the sitter. Mattioni has always loved animals, especially the big cats.
