Edmond Praybe is a painter and teacher residing outside of Annapolis, Maryland. He received his B.F.A. from the Maryland Institute, College of Art and his M.F.A. from the New York Studio School. Upon completion of his graduate studies, he received the prestigious Hohenberg Travel Award for study in Europe. Edmond’s work has been shown widely at venues including Manifest Gallery, Stephen F. Austin State University in TX, The University of Mary Washington in VA, First Street, Prince Street and Bowery Galleries in New York City, The Gallery of UNC Asheville and the Lyme Academy of Fine Arts. He has received three Mercedes Matter Awards from New York Studio School alumni exhibitions 2019- 2021, a purchase award from UNC Asheville’s Annual Drawing Discourse in 2021 and was a National Parks artist-in-residence at Catoctin Mountain Park in 2013. He was also awarded ‘Best Composition by a Non-Competition Artist’ for Plein Air Easton’s ‘Quick Draw’ in 2017. Edmond is a member of Zeuxis: An Association of Still Life Painters and is represented by Tregony Gallery in the UK, Peterson Contemporary in Bend, OR and First Street Gallery in New York City.
