The Wayne Art Center's Fall Members' 2011 Juried Exhibition will be featured from October 23rd through November 19th. Each year, the Wayne Art Center recognizes the artistic achievements of its members. The exhibition will feature paintings, drawings, sculpture, stained glass, ceramics, jewelry and works on paper by members of the art center.The juror, Peter Van Dyck, was classically trained at The Florence Academy of Art, in Italy, and now is a professor at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia. The Opening Reception and Awards Ceremony will take place on Sunday, October 23 from 3:00 to 5:00. The Juror's Lecture will take place on Wednesday, November 9th from 7:00pm.
Peter Van Dyck will also be teaching a workshop titled, "Oil Painting From The Found Environment" on November 12th and 13th . Registration is currently being accepted.
During the Opening Reception, we will feature a locally based company, New Wave Art. This company offers a novel line of artist palettes and accessories that place a new spin on old world fine art materials.
In its continued mission to educate our members, the Wayne Art Center will also host a free lecture by Winsor & Newton on Thursday, October 27 at 6:30pm. The lecture will feature information on pigment characteristics, studio safety, history, permanence, mixing, mediums and techniques. Attendees will receive free samples.
