A graduate of The Boston Museum School, Cynthia Rosen was previously a non-objective painter who now finds great joy painting en plein air in addition to her studio work. She is a palette knife painter whose work bridges the gap between representation and abstraction. Cynthia’s work reflects the ephemeral nature of her subjects. Her artwork has been featured in numerous magazine articles, online journals and podcasts. Among her Plein Air event awards are honors from Borrego Springs Invitational, Bath County Plein Air, Olmsted Invitational, Paint Annapolis, Harford Plein air, Adirondack Plein Air Festival and Escalante Plein Air Festival. Cynthia’s painting “Poetry in Bloom” was awarded Best in Show in Wayne Art Center’s Plein Air Festival in 2022 by juror Kathryn Stats. Her work is represented by Helmholz Fine Art and Robert Paul Galleries in Vermont as well as Chasen Art Galleries in Virginia and Gallery 46 in New York.
