Summer Culinary Internship

Description

The Wayne Art Center is looking for energetic individuals with an interest in culinary arts to assist with our Summer Art Camp cooking classes. Our popular camp consists of 12 one-week sessions, with classes in the mornings and afternoon. Campers range in age from 8 through late teens. Guided by our experienced chef, the interns will gain experience in many aspects of professional cooking.

The Wayne Art Center is a non-profit organization dedicated to enriching our community through the arts. We are located in Wayne PA, 18 miles outside of Philadelphia.

Availability

June 3 through August 23, 2019. We offer classes in the morning (9:30 am – 12:00 pm) and  afternoon (12:30 – 3:00 pm).

Summer Camp Culinary Interns will assist with:

• culinary prep and clean-up
• guiding and supervising  campers in the kitchen
• maintaining safe and sanitary work environment
• curriculum development
• recipe selection
• placing food orders
• general culinary tasks

Requirements

• Interest in a culinary career and children
• Ability to take direction and work in a supervised environment
• Experience in managing and directing children is a plus
