Sharon grew up in the western suburbs of Philadelphia. In 1991, she graduated from Moore College of Art and Design with a BFA in Illustration. In 1992, she attended graduate classes in English Literature at Villanova University and began her career in marketing and package design for numerous Fortune 500 companies. She has designed for published national trade journals, ad campaigns, corporate identities, illustrated stationery, medical illustrations for courtroom cases, and commissioned paintings. To advance her skills and pursue a career in fine art, in 2012 Sharon began her studies at Studio Incamminati under renowned painters Leona and Nelson Shanks. The focus of her training is modeled after traditional Italian Accademia and French Atelier schools, combined with the color language of the Impressionists. In addition to portraiture, her work includes the traditional painting genres of landscape, still life, and the figure. She has studied under internationally recognized and award-winning artists Jon DeMartin, Darren Kingsley, Steven Early, Kerry Dunn, Natalie Italiano, Leona Shanks, and ARC Living Masters Dan Thompson and Nelson Shanks.
Sharon teaches drawing and painting to students of all ages, and all levels of skill and experience. Her teaching philosophy integrates the academic and spiritual importance of the creative process, and individualized curriculums reference noteworthy artists and influential artwork throughout history. Sharon is committed to sharing the important role that art plays in enriching our world.
“I cherish the surprise moments when I become aware that there is a greater force at work through me, and years of learned technique turn fluently into something beautiful on canvas. I strive to share the healing power of inspiration with others, and I believe the true gift of being an artist lies in the ability to see beauty everywhere.”
