2025 Summer Art Camp Intern
Wayne Art Center is looking for an enthusiastic Summer Art Camp Intern to assist with the daily operations of our busy 11-week Summer Art Camp program, and a culinary intern to assist with culinary classes.
Classroom duties (General and Culinary Intern):
– Ensure classroom volunteers know which students will be going to lunch bunch.
– Ensure all campers get safely from morning classes to lunch bunch and to afternoon classes from lunch bunch.
– Monitor lunch bunch campers.
Administrative duties (General Intern):
-Assist with Monday check-in.
-Print attendance sheets from registration system and add attendance sheets to classroom binders.
-Assist with the design of poster, flyers, signage and digital communications as well as projects for social media and general promotions.
-Process t-shirt reports and organize and distribute camp t-shirts accordingly.
-Check for student allergies on Epact medical records system. Add medical alerts to classroom rosters.
-Help inventory classroom supplies.
Miscellaneous Duties (General Intern):
-Keep supply closets clean and organized.
-Refill classroom art materials.
-Wash and fold kitchen aprons and towels. Gather at the end of each day and start in washing machine (culinary Intern).
-Make sure children’s garden is free of trash.

-Excellent verbal, written communication skills and interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with students, parents and teachers.
-Excellent problem solving skills, flexibility, creative thinking and ability to bring problems to a successful resolution.
-Computer proficiency, including experience with Microsoft Office. An aptitude for technology and ability to learn other platforms as needed.
-Ability to exercise sound judgement, maintain a high degree of confidentiality and ability to identify and avoid conflicts of interest.
-Appropriate and professional behavior dealing with staff, faculty, students and volunteers.
-Strong project management skills, highly organized with attention to detail.
-Self-directed style, ability to work independently, proactively and efficiently with only moderate direction or supervision. Effectively follows through on assignments
-Take ownership of issues and action items.
-Flexible, open to input and changes, comfortable with the unexpected.
-Excellent customer service ethic and high expectations for quality.
-Flexible schedule with ability to work before or after camp hours.
-Willingness and availability to substitute teach when necessary.
-Experience working with children necessary.
-Experience in the visual arts preferred.
