Paper Design and Book Arts

Learn techniques of paper design including paste painted paper and suminagashi marbling. These papers will be used to make soft and hard cover books, and other useful and fun paper structures. The book format transforms paper and textures into an amazing range of projects such as the simple accordion, a flag book, a sewn book and box structures. Cards and pop-ups add to the variety and many useful origami structures round out the classes. Calligraphy will be discussed and the instructor will work with each student to improve handwriting, as well as offer techniques that can easily be used in books and cards.
